Adams asks: Question: What is an Emu sapiens?
Inquired on 2012-06-25
Answer #1: Emu sapiens is the binomial nomenclature (always in the singular form) for a mythical species thought to emerge through the involvement of Homo sapiens specimens with Eastern Michigan University (acronym: EMU). The Emu is an actual flightless bird common over most of mainland Australia, and prominent in Australian Aboriginal mythology. While the Australian Emu is not an Emu sapiens, its homophonic resonance led to selecting it as the totem for the EsCA, and its (mythical) green feathers are used in ceremonies honoring distinction among its members
